Én-idő / Me-time

If you think that this is totally an off-topic you are not really right. I mentioned some weeks ago that I lost my passion, I met and worked with people who did not share my dream, plus I have some new challenges in my job from which I can learn a lot but also need some extra energy to be always focused and on the top. So in nutshell: I just needed to be back on track. How I usually do that? I just have a day-off with myself :) This time I decided that I will spend some time with one of my favorite "lovers": the far-east cuisine

This time I was not keen on having a date with the robust and characteristic flavors of Hindu cuisine neither the harsh and hot Thai meals. I just wanted to have harmony, simplicity and elegance at the same time... so I knew "who" to meet: soto ayam (not that fancy alternative: Indonesian chicken-stock :))

I planned for a while to have a visit in "Asian Flavors" exotic grocery store, so I just dropped in and tried to recover from my shock...   I-loooove-this-place! It's heaven on earth!

I was cruising around in perfect happiness hovering from different kinds of chillies to tasty masalas and attractive exotic fruits, and suddenly a scream woke me up: "oh no, omg, nooooo ...shit, shit, shit, no lemongrass...." An expat knelt in front of the fridge realizing that there were only two pieces of juiceless lemongrass left. I also needed two pieces of lemongrass so asked the shop-assistant whether there is any solution. He was kind enough to offer me the frozen tom yum kit, which contained basically all the ingredients I needed. I also informed the guy that this could help him, but he was totally shocked...
Finaly I spent 15 minutes on trying to convince him that the Earth didn't stop moving and I also had a plan B, so offered him to visit Culinaris where he can buy some fresh lemongrass. I'm sure he ended up in having a perfect dinner, serving perfect tom yum soup :)

Before I share the recipe I have to warn you that while cooking soto ayam you will spend more time on preparation than cooking itself. But look at the picture: it's worth to spend time on having this fantastic soup on your table :)

The recipe can be found here, I'd be happy to read your experience and see your photos of your own soto ayam :)
In the meantime I found my inner piece again and soon I will release all the info on my secret project soon :)

PS:  if your dinner looks like this you are good enough to be the master of soto ayam (okay, this is not mine...downloaded it from the web :D)
